Overview:
CID Gulf was commissioned by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning to provide pre-feasibility engineering advisory for a transformative downtown redevelopment in North Al Khuwair. The project aimed to test the viability of introducing canals, marinas, land reclamation, and urban infrastructure upgrades within a complex urban and coastal context.
Scope of Work:
Engineering assessment of concept canal, marine, and road systems Gap analysis of existing infrastructure and environmental data Coastal and flood risk commentary linked to Wadi Al Khuwair Utility corridor and traffic interface strategy High-medium-low cost-benefit and risk matrix Definition of next-stage studies: topography, hydrology, geotechnical, EIA Overlay sketches and markups for MoHUP presentations
Outcome:
CID Gulf’s strategic input enabled MoHUP to frame the development's infrastructure potential, risks, and study requirements. The study provided a foundation for transitioning the concept vision into structured, multi-phase feasibility and investment planning.
