Overview:
CID Gulf was appointed by MoHUP to conduct a rapid, high-level review of the existing Jabal Al Akhdar masterplan (prepared by WS Atkins/SNC Lavalin). The advisory role focused on evaluating the conceptual framework, identifying alignment gaps with national urban planning policies, and providing strategic recommendations.
Scope of Advisory Services: Workshop & Presentation Review:
Attended WS Atkins’ masterplan presentation workshop (Day 1). Critiqued the BOD/Inception Report for compliance with MoHUP’s vision.
Technical Assessment:
Evaluated land-use strategies, infrastructure scalability, and environmental sensitivity. Highlighted risks/omissions in the proposed concept.
Stakeholder Coordination:
Participated in MoHUP meetings to align review outcomes with governmental priorities.
Deliverables:
Summary report with actionable recommendations (no design production). Verbal debriefs to MoHUP leadership.
Exclusions:
No detailed design work or AutoCAD outputs. No site supervision or implementation support.
Outcome:
Enabled MoHUP to validate or recalibrate WS Atkins’ masterplan before further investment. Provided evidence-based critiques to ensure compliance with Oman’s urban planning standards. Delivered within a 5-day turnaround, demonstrating CID Gulf’s agility in advisory roles.
