Overview:

CID Gulf was engaged by Atkins to support the development of the Oman National Spatial Strategy (ONSS), contributing strategic advisory services aligned with Vision 2040 and the country’s economic diversification agenda. The work involved multi-scenario planning, stakeholder consultations, and national infrastructure forecasting.

Scope of Work:

Advisory input on national development strategies and spatial planning Scenario modeling (Global City, Governorate Centres, etc.) Coordination with utilities and infrastructure providers (PAW, Haya, OPWP) Demand forecasting for population, water, and energy Planning guidance on aquifer use and environmental sensitivity zones Participation in stakeholder alignment and draft policy refinement

Outcome:

CID Gulf’s input helped shape a cohesive and forward-looking national framework, supporting SCP and its consultants in preparing a sustainable and integrated development vision for Oman to 2040.
