Overview:
CID Gulf was appointed by Diamond Developers to conduct a high-level peer review of Phase 1 infrastructure networks for The Sustainable City Yiti, focusing on Value Engineering (VE) and Cost-Benefit (CB) analysis. The advisory role aimed to optimize design strategies, ensure compliance with Omani standards, and identify cost-saving opportunities without altering core design responsibilities.
Scope of Services:
Peer review of 8 infrastructure networks, including: Surface water drainage, potable/firefighting water, foul water, irrigation (TSE) Electrical, telecoms, roads, district cooling VE/CB assessment of existing designs against local regulations and industry practices High-level checks for load/demand alignment with Omani standards Risk-benefit analysis (High/Medium/Low) of proposed solutions Workshop facilitation with Diamond Developers to prioritize VE opportunities Simplified sketches and reports outlining alternative solutions No detailed design—strictly strategic advisory and validation
Outcome:
CID Gulf’s review enabled Diamond Developers to: Identify cost-saving opportunities across utility networks. Validate design compliance with Omani regulatory standards. Streamline decision-making through prioritized VE/CB recommendations. Reduce risks in later stages by addressing inconsistencies early.
