Overview:
CID Gulf was appointed by Sarooj Construction Company to support their participation in the design-and-build tender for Phase 1 of the Yiti Marina and Coastal Protection Works. CID Gulf’s role was focused exclusively on pre-tender design advisory, involving risk analysis, review of legacy designs, and identification of value engineering opportunities to strengthen SCC’s tender submission.
Scope of Services:
Review of existing marina and wadi protection design packages (Halcrow, KEO, IWC) Identification of design gaps, risks, and inconsistencies Outline review of marine and hydrological parameters to align with 1:100-year design events Advisory on cost-effective coastal and wadi protection solutions Preparation of briefing notes, markups, risk registers, and VE documentation Development of design methodology for future detailed stage No production of AutoCAD or IFC-level design — strategic input only
Outcome:
CID Gulf’s advisory input provided SCC with a critical technical edge in the D&B tender process, allowing for better alignment with project constraints, improved risk mitigation strategies, and a clear roadmap for cost-saving opportunities in future design phases.
